Amsterdam became the epicentre of the international nautical industry from 18 to 20 November with the celebration of Metstrade (Marine Equipment Trade Show), the world’s most important B2B fair dedicated to equipment, materials and systems for both the professional and recreational marine industry.

Over the course of three days, nearly 20,000 industry professionals explored more than 150,000 square metres of exhibition space across 30 halls, featuring 1,500 exhibitors from over 130 countries. This impressive exhibition area also included strong representation from the Balearic Islands, with around twenty nautical companies participating thanks to the collaboration agreement between AENIB, ANEN and the Regional Development Agency (ADR Balears), an entity of the Government of the Balearic Islands linked to the Ministry of Business, Self-Employed Workers and Energy.

“We are here thanks to the support of the Ministry and ADR Balears, so that our companies can stay up to date with sector innovations and keep the Balearic Islands at the forefront of the market,” stated Jaume Vaquer, president of AENIB, expressing his gratitude to the Government for accompanying them at the event. “We made a commitment to highlight the value of the Balearic nautical industry, accompanying companies to events like this, and we will continue fulfilling that commitment and supporting you,” responded the Minister of Business, Self-Employed Workers and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, who visited the Spanish Pavilion to gain first-hand insight into the weight of the Balearic nautical sector in the international market.

Among the Balearic companies taking part in Metstrade this year were businesses specialising in equipment, boat repair and maintenance, engines and generators, crew recruitment, as well as naval design and architecture. Specifically, attendees included Supermercado Náutico, Viamar, Dahlberg, OS Safety Equipment, Seateach, Waterline, Metalnox, Bravo Yacht Design, Astilleros de Mallorca, Akupalma, Nautipaints, Marine Point and Warren Maritime.

From the stand provided by the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), these companies showcased their products and services, held meetings with national and international professionals, and built synergies in a more relaxed setting, such as the Spanish Party held on Wednesday, 19 November.
