The Balearic Islands maintained their prominence in 2025 as Spain’s leading market for recreational boat registrations, despite recording a year-on-year decline in activity.

The 18,2 % drop in registries of boats has not stopped the Balearics from being the leading areas in the general market as well as in the charter area.

Amsterdam became the epicentre of the international nautical industry from 18 to 20 November with the celebration of Metstrade (Marine Equipment Trade Show), the world’s most important B2B trade fair.

Regarding the charter market, with 310 registered unities, the archipelago concentrates almost one quarter of the total of the national boating market.

The Balearics have adhered to the Manifesto for a Spanish Strategy of Blue Economy, turning into the second region of Spain in integrating into this initiative of statal reach.
