Metstrade: Next destination for the Balearic nautical industry
Over thirty companies of the Balearic nautical sector will take part next week in one of the most prominent boating fairs of the sector. The Metstrade fair will take place from November 18th to the 20th at the area of the RAI, in Amsterdam. Is it considered as the most important professional event for the international sector, and it reunites over 1.700 stands. Last editions have had over 20.000 visitors.
Basically half of these professionals, fifteen entities will present their products and services in Asmterdam thanks to an accord between the Business, Self-Employed and Energy Counselling, and the National Nautical Companies Association (ANEN) that aim to boost the internationalization of the nautical sector, considered as strategic for the economy of the Balearics.
This monday, November 10th, the counsillor of Business, Self-Employed and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, and the general director of ANEN, Jordi Carrasco, have presented the accord with the assitance of some companies that benefit from this initiative. The general director of Industry and Industrial Parks, Alfons Gómez; the president of the Association of Nautical Companies of the Balearic Islands (AENIB), Jaume Vaquer, and representatives of the companies that will be present at the fair have also assisted to the presentation.
The counsillor has explained that "this accord is set inside the commitment of the Government of accompanying companies of the sector to those international events that are considered as relevant". In this sense, Jordi Carrasco, general director of ANEN, has cleared that "being in METS is essential, since it's the best platform to project these capabilities and generate new business opportunities" and that this alliance with the Government "is a great opportunity for the companies that do not go to the Metstrade with their own stand but that want to benefit from the great opportunities that offers the assistance to an international event such as this fair".
Thanks to this accord with the Regional Development Agency of the Balearic Islands (ADRBalears), entity that depends on the Business, Self-Employed and Energy Counselling, ANEN will create a space for nautical companies of the Balearics at the stand that the entity has adquired in Metstrade, place at the Hall 1, one of the most crowded. This way, companies will be able to present their products at the fair, as well as establish new commercial relationships. In addition, it is programmed to organize an event on November 19th to show the potential of the Balearic nautical industry at Amsterdam's fair. Another aspect that has to be taken into account is that the next edition of the Palma International Boat Show, organized by ADRBalears and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA), which will take place from April 29th to May 2nd, will be publicized.
Amongst the companies that have conffirmed their assistance to the Metstrade at ANEN's stand there are: Supermercado Náutico, Viamar, Dahlberg, Oscar Sierra Safety Equipment, Seateach, Waterline, Metalnox, Bravo Yacht Design, Astilleros de Mallorca, Akupalma, Nautipaints and Warren Maritime.
In addition, the stand, which will have a space focused on the Balearic Islands, will be open to all the companies of the Balearics that visit the Metstrade, and will be used as new encounter spot where reunions and presentations will be organized, as well as new professional contacts will be established.
Carrasco has pointed out that "we managed to create a space where companies are the main characters and we give them the opportunity of establishing connections not just with companies of the Islands but also with foreign companies”.
And Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro has affirmed that "from the Counselling we work altogether with the sector to boost the strenght of the nautical business fabric, and this type of intiatives contribute to the international visibility of new companies, and help establish new commercial relationships and opening up to new markets".
