The joint AENIB/ANEN stand served as a venue for a variety of activities aimed at promoting the Balearic nautical sector and supporting local companies. It also became a central meeting point and resource hub for member companies, who used the space for meetings, encounters, and networking activities.

The talks, presentations, and events of the association were all part of the official programme of the boat show and concentrated on the morning of Friday, May 2.

Presentation of the upcoming ICOMIA Congress

Among the key events was the presentation of the Annual Congress of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA), which will take place for the first time in Palma, in collaboration with the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO), from May 25 to 29, 2025.

The Congress was introduced by José Luis Fayos, Technical Advisor to ANEN, and Jordi Carrasco, General Director of ANEN, joined by Jaume Vaquer, President of AENIB, and Silvia Delgado, Managing Director of ADR Balears, the organisation behind PIBS. During the presentation, attendees were given a preview of this major international gathering, which will bring together around 100 professionals and representatives from across the global marine industry—further positioning Palma as a strategic hub for maritime development.

“For a whole week, we’ll host the world’s leading nautical figures—representatives from industry associations across the globe—who will come together to discuss the future and the challenges facing the sector,” said Carrasco, who emphasised that “this is a unique opportunity to consolidate Palma’s position as a global centre for the nautical industry and to connect with key players from the world’s leading nautical markets.”

"This will allow us to showcase the strength of our industrial network to representatives from markets on all five continents, including major ones like New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States,” added Fayos. “And from the IFBSO side, we’ll also have the presence of presidents and directors from some of the world’s most important boat shows—Düsseldorf, Cannes, Miami, Barcelona, and of course, Palma.”
