AENIB reminds its members of the guidelines for responding to the metalworkers' strike

The strike called in the Balearic Islands’ metal sector for July 27, 28, 29, and 30 will begin this Monday after negotiations between the employers’ association and the labor unions ended without an agreement.

As a member of the Balearic Metal Federation (FEBAME), AENIB would like to remind our member companies of the key recommendations developed by Marimon & Asociados, the legal department of the metal industry employers’ association, to navigate these days with maximum legal certainty, ensuring compliance with regulations and the continuity of business operations.

Among the key guidelines, FEBAME recommends carefully reviewing the resolution on minimum services that may affect each company, precisely identifying the workplaces, activities, shifts, and job categories included, as well as the number of workers needed to ensure these services are provided.

Likewise, companies must designate, with proper justification, the employees who are to cover these minimum services, applying objective criteria and avoiding any form of discrimination or retaliation. Once this designation has been made, it must be communicated well in advance to the affected individuals, specifying the position or service they are to perform, their schedules, and the workplace, and maintaining a written record of such communication.
